Update just the data source not the rscript/python script

I have developed a PowerBI application using data that is coming from Azure Blob storage. This data is then processed using R within PowerBI.

Though the parent data is coming from cloud and updated online, the RScript is static and doesnt change.  And my client prefers online version and hence, I have went ahead with an automatic refresh of data every day. 

Just because I have R script in my application, I had to go through the personal gateway.

Im not interested to keep my PC on daily during this update/refresh process. Is there any solution without me having my PC on ?

The RSCRIPT wont change at all !

Hi @bicycle ,

Based on the information you provided, as you said, a personal gateway must be used because there is R scripting in the application. Since the personal gateway can only run as an application, it must keep the PC running. And you need to reopen the Personal Gateway every time you open the PC.

You might consider placing the content to be refreshed to be refreshed in a virtual machine to ensure that the virtual machine is on 24 hours a day. 

By using this method, you do not have to keep the PC running all day.
