Update excel lists

Hi all,

I am quite new in PBI and not a native speaker so maybe my question had been answered but I really couldnt find it anywhere.

Issue:

I receive a list of products from client in excel format, I process them and I add a column next to each one with a new text marking (let s say "delivered", "not delivered"). Client never sees this new column.

Next month I receive a new list consisted of approx 80% the same products and 20% new ones. However, for the 80%same I do not have the "delivered.." marking and it s quite more complex than it seems to simply take the 20% new ones and paste it to the previous list.

Instead of updating it in excel I want to use Power BI to relate the 2 lists so once I get the latest one I instantly have all the info I need for the ones I already had.

Any ideas?

Managing relationships tab is not really working as needs a unique value which is not the case

Hi Panoslaz,

the products that you recieve from the client, are these orders?

Hi

Yes you can think of them as orders.

Even if I use a sample of unique (relatable) values from both lists then I experience other kind of problems- the metrics from 1 list seem to work perferctly but the ones of the 2nd present all the time the same number (even if I choose DO NOT SUMMARIZE from the field list).

In plain words for example I have Product A with Metric1=80 and Metric2(from 2nd set)= 50

Product B with Metric1=70 and Metric2= 60

So let s say I put them in a scatter plot or bar-line chart and I have the correct positionings for metric1 but always the aggregated for Metric 2 (either average of 55 or sum of 110 or anything else). A

Again, I choose do not summarize but nothing happens.

I understand that this is probably a separate issue but I am quite lost in all this.

THanks
