Uncertified Connectors Warning
I have a user that is getting the following warning message everytime they open a Power BI file they created. The only data connections that he created were to a SQL DB. However, when I open the PBIX file I do not get the warning.
Here are the answers to the questions I know I will get:
- Version each of us has installed
- He originally had August version then upgraded to version 2.64.5285.741 64-bit (November 2018)
- I have version 2.64.5285.582 64-bit (November 2018)
- He had one custom visual installed R DataTable but it was not used so I had him uninstall it save the file, close and then reopen the file. The warning still showed up.
- I checked to see what data sources were in the current file. The only one that existed was for the SQL connection.
- The SQL connection is to an On-Prem SQL Database and we are using a Power BI On-Prem Data Gateway that was upgraded to the November version
- Under Options/Security on both of our systems the Data Extenstions is set to "(Recommended) Only allow certified extensions to load." Chaning it to "(Not Recommended) Allow any extension to load without warning" suppresses the warning.

Hi Anonymous
According to this article, what you have done in the last step is a avaliable workaround to solve the issue.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-connector-extensibility#data-extension-security
"To resolve the error and use those connectors, you must change your security settings to the "(Not Recommended)" setting as described earlier, and restart Power BI Desktop."
Best Regards
