Hi,
I’m encountering an “Unauthorized” error with the action ‘Export_To_File_for_Paginated_Reports’ in Power Automate. A different error message on the top states: “Action ‘Export_To_File_for_Paginated_Reports’ failed: The response is not in a JSON format.” which I believe is due to the Unauthorized statusCode 401 error.
Interestingly, when I use ‘Export To File for Power BI Reports’ for the report in the same workspace, it works without any issues. Both the Power BI report and the Paginated Report are based on the same semantic model.
I’m not sure why this discrepancy is occurring.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Hi @pb11 -Verify that the account running the flow has explicit permissions for the paginated reports. You may need to check this in both the Power BI Service and the workspace settings.Licensing Confirmation: Ensure that the workspace is in a Power BI Premium capacity and your user account has the appropriate license level (e.g., Premium Per User or above).Re-authenticate Power Automate Connections: Go to Power Automate > Data > Connections and re-authenticate your Power BI connection. This can resolve expired token issues.Test Directly in Power BI Service: Try to export the paginated report directly in the Power BI Service to see if it works outside of Power Automate. This can help confirm whether the issue is with Power Automate or with the permissions/settings in Power BI.
If these steps don't resolve the issue, the JSON error message could indicate a deeper problem with how the request is being processed, and you might need to further investigate the API call or consult your IT team for advanced troubleshooting.

Hi @rajendraongole1, thank you for the suggestions. I have tried below but unfortunately got the same error.
The only thing I can think is that the paginated report is residing in "My Workspace" which is currently in premium capacity but for a trail period. Not sure if the trial is the reason.
