Unable to see existing data in Report View.

Hi Guys,

Here I am facing a situaltion where I see data in 'Data View' of PowerBI desktop but the same is not available in Report View.

For example, I have GDP of 5 countries - US, UK, Canada, India, South Africa. I am able to see all five entries in Data View. However, When I am creating a 'Filter' Visual. I could see only 4 countries - UK, UK , Canada and India. Visual is not showing any data point regarding South Africa.

Request you to please provide any solution to this.

Regards,

Easha

Hi @Anonymous ,

Make sure of the below:

1. South Africa has at least one value present against it; If not, create a +0 measure for it

2. Slicer is not filtered

3. No other visualization is driving the slicer

4. No page level filters

5. Check if this table is part of any joins in the relationship and that is why South Africa is getting left

It will be great if you can put some sample images of data, relationship and visualizations for better understanding.

Give a thumbs up if this post helped you in any way and mark this post as solution if it solved your query !!!

Visuals will only show values for which there are rows are in context.  Is there something else on the report page that is filtering out the South Africa rows?  Also check the Filter panel to make sure it is not filtered out there too.

If this works for you, please mark it as the solution.  Kudos are appreciated too.  Please let me know if not.

Regards,

Pat

Hi Pat,

Thanks for your response!

I tried and checked thing you mentioned, however, it doesn't work for me. Could you please suggest anything else which might work?

Thanks,

Easha

Is there anything else in your visual?  Please confirm that when you make a slicer or a table with no measures that you see all the countries.  Once you start adding analyses, and Countries that return blank with automatically be filtered out of the visual.

If you do have a measure and need to see a result for all countries, you can add "+0" to your measure.

If this works for you, please mark it as the solution.  Kudos are appreciated too.  Please let me know if not.

Regards,

Pat

Thanks Pat!

I believe there was technical glitch. I created all filters and visuals again from scratch and that was working absolutely fine.

Thanks

Easha
