Unable to open document - many-to-many or composite model

Hi.  Relatively new to Power BI and would appreciate any help.  Created a new report using 2 sources - import of SQL tables and Excel file.  Report completed and worked great.  Closed the file and reopened later to get the following error message:

The file was pretty straight forward, should have no many to many relationships.  But I cant get into it to make any changes for find out what is wrong.  Is there any way to get back into it?

Thanks

Simon

Well clearly it shouldn’t happen if you created the model with the same client. How old is your version of desktop?  The report server version normally runs up to 5 months behind the normal version. Depending on your org, you could be several versions behind. If you have an old version, you won’t get support I guess. I would update to the latest report server version. If the problem persists, then open a support ticket.

I will not give you bad advice, even if you unknowingly ask for it.

Hi. Thanks. I created and tried to reopen on the same client. Unfortunately getting my organization to allow the latest version isn’t simple.

Could I download the lastest version outside my organization on a different computer, open the file and make the changes? Or would that not open when I go back to the organization version?

Thanks
