URL formatting doesn't display correctly for all items (but works for some)

Hi Community~

 

I have a tricky one we can't solve:

In the table above, the first 3 hyperlinks display and format correctly as links, but the bottom 5 do not. 

 

Here is what we know:

  • All items are CSV files
  • All files are in the same SharePoint library
  • All links start with https://
  • All links end with .csv
  • All links work correctly when copy pasted into browser
  • The [Links] column is data type text and Data Category set to web url

 

What else are we missing that we need to check for to figure out why some links work and others do not?

Update - I figured this out!

 

This report was connected live to a Power BI semantic model, and I have been trying for the past week to solve it. I tried using DAX query view to query the column and all the links appeared to start with https and copying them into the browers they worked fine.

 

To write this post, I copied the data into a new report, and discovered that there is actually a space in front of the https that you can see in the data view, but for some reason the table visual and DAX query view hide this.

When I trim the column using Power Query the links format correctly:
