Hi All
I dont do a lot of BI for work but have produced a number of basic reports for management, one of which is revenue. The user puts in a date range and is shown revenue by month/year (a simple bar chart. ) The current report is very basic but does the job and they can drill down to customer revenue etc.
They now want to be able to put in two definable date ranges so that they can compare revenue between those date ranges. But on the same chart.
So for example the first date range might be the first 6 months of the year, and the second date range the second 6 months of the year. They can then compare by having the bars on the same chart.
I am not quite sure how to get started on this, can anyone suggest a good starting place?
Thanks

Hi @trev1972a ,
Based on your description, it seems like you want to use two slicers with different time periods to filter the same visual object. Then compare the data from these two time periods. If that's the case, you may need to create two date dimension tables (that don't create relationships with each other). Then create two slicers using date fields from each of these date dimension tables. Later, you will also need to create some metrics to assist in the visual object slicing.

Applying two slicers from the same field on Table visual - Power BI - Enterprise DNA Forum
If so, would it be possible to provide more raw data in your tables (exclude sensitive data) with Text format and your expected result with backend logic and special examples? It would be helpful to find out the solution. You can refer the following links to share the required info:

And It is better if you can share a simplified pbix file. You can refer the following link to upload the file to the community. Thank you.
