Two newb questions
Hello all and thanks in advance for any help. Here are my questions
1. How do I change the background color of the viewing area in Power BI? I am currently using a shape and coloring it but I don't like it. There should be a way to change the background to a desired color
2. I have a background shape with eight tables in front of it. If I click on the shape the tables disappear. If I then right click on the shape they come back. I have played with send to back and send to front (doesn't work all that well) and I've played with grouping them all together but I feel I am not using the best approach. I have seen others add a shape and then put items on top of it without this disappearing act. What is the best way to go to avoid all of this?

Gameplayer13905 To change the background color, click on any white space on the canvas, select the, "Format your page" paint brush, then expand the Canvas background section and choose a color. Don't forget to change the transparency as needed.
Regarding your second question, you'll have to adjust the layer order. Go to the View tab then click on Selection. With my example I have the Red circle listed before the Black circle, so it will always appear on top. For your example, make sure the background shape is listed beneath the eight tables.Thank you bchager this is what I am seeing on the selectoion screen. I have grouoped the eight tables (matrixes) together under Group1 and the shapes are below them in the image below.

For changing the background colour, do NOT select any visuals, and go to the Visualisations Pane > Format Page > Canvas Background (or Wallpaper).
For the second one - i think they might be changing the background colour of the visual. So if you select a visual, you can go to the same Visualisations Pane > Format Visual > Effects.
Otherwise, they may be grouping the visual and the shape together, which might prevent the ordering from changing. To do this, select 2 or more visuals / shapes and then right click > Group.
