Transform Data mode only show 100 rows

Hello,

I'm trying to create a new column based on data that comes from a column in my table. However, when I'm using Power BI's Transform Data screen, and using the Add Column ->Example Column->From Selection, only the first 100 table's rows are shown, which makes it impossible for me to determine the data in the new column, since my table has more than 20000 rows and I need to capture all kind of data variations in this column. Is there a way for Power BI to show more than 100 rows in Transform Data mode?

I was facing the same issue where I needed more than 100 rows from the example column. I followed the below steps and it seems to work for me.
1. Select and filter the rows from the example column(s) which would capture the required data variations.
2. Add the new custom column from examples and populate it until Power BI gets the logic right.

3. In the Applied Steps section, delete the filtering you have done in the first step and check if your custom column now has all the variations you wanted.

When deleting, it warns you that subsequent steps might get affected. But my custom column was the only next step and it turned out to be exactly what I wanted.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if you found more elegant way of doing this.

Thanks!

This worked for me, thanks for the tip!

Hi @Anonymous ,

I think it is not possible.

You can click on the Filters to check the Data of that particular Column.
