Hi @mainmain ,

Dataset :

1. The content stored in the dataset is mainly data from the data source, metadata that connects the data source, and metadata such as the schema of the data source. The dataset is the actual data you pull (query or tables)

2. It contains information about the data source and data-source credentials.

Data source : is where you are pulling your data from  (SQL Server, Oracle )

Dataflow :

1. It is used to Unify data from different sources and prepare data for modeling.

2. It helps easily ingest, cleanse, transform, integrate, enrich, and schematize data from a large array of transactional and      observational sources.

Here is a  blog  sharing detailed differences between dataflow and dataset.

@mainmain ,

Datasource is for the source of the data like you are getting data from excel, SQL server or SAP. The Excel, SQL Server, SAP are data source

dataflows

Data Set - one data is loaded to power bi. This power bi dataset

Data Source:  used to describe where your original data comes from.

Dataset: describes all the data sources  you have used in your project to create a report, dashboards, or to connect to from Excel and other XMLA clients.  Also contains information on how your data sources are linked together (aka "data model")

Dataflows:  Azue based storage solution.
