My current dashboard has a chart with a single measure (that is more or less a count).
It also has a 'legend' box with boxes/buttons for a categorical variable on the measure.
So say we have a measure M that is sort of a count on items which can be any of categories A, B, C, D.
Then by clicking on the box for B in the legend, the chart will then only show the measure M for items of category B.
Fairly straightforward stuff so far.
It is more useful for me however to have four different measures instead - one for each category (M_A, M_B, M_C, M_D).
I would like to (a) display all of these measures on the same chart (which should be straightforward enough) but (b) still have a separate legend box with toggles for the measures now instead of categories.
Notably I would like to retain the old user friendliness - I don't want the user to have to open the slicer from the side filter tab to filter on the graph. I would like a toggle box on the dashboard itself - the toggle box should be able to have multiple toggles on at the same time (i.e, measure A and B on, but measure C and D off, etc).
I would appreciate some help here.

Hi @TableauIsBetter ,
Consider creating an unconnected DimCategory table and then creating a new measure:
DimCategory = DISTINCT('Table'[Category])
Measure =
VAR _cur_category = SELECTEDVALUE('DimCategory'[Category])
VAR _measure = [YourMeasure]
VAR _result = CALCULATE([YourMeasure],'Table'[Category]=_cur_category)
RETURN
_result
Output:
Change the slicer:
Please check the demo.

Hi @TableauIsBetter ,
Can you kindly share some screenshots to explain the whole question please?
