The company I work for are switching from a BI tool that allows users to click on day/week/month icon to see time series as day/week/month level.
In Power BI, I know this can be achieved using drill down or bookmarks...but is there a way of setting this up using eg parameter ?

Hi @AndyDD_UK ,
as attachments the pbix of the project that correspond to your request parameter on the x-axis.
You have the menu to choose the type of visualisation Year-Month-Week.
Otherwise if you want to enable the hierarchy in addition remove the single select option from the slicer so you can use also in addition the standard hierarchy as an option without select a value from the slicer.
Mark as a solution if i help to solve your problem thank you.

Now i realize the problem.
I think the best solution for desing, ux, effort design, effort teaching continue to be the hierarchy.
Is a very powerfull standard instrument of powebi.
Is very intuitive because is a details choice Year -> Month -> Week -> Day.
You will prepare a short video in wich you will show how to use the hierarcy (instead of the lateral button as before).
Is normal that when you change software something change. The world change and we are here to learn something new everyday.
Otherwise bookmarks are too much complicated to manage something like this for my opinion.
Better to use field parameters to changhe the x-axis as shown in this article.
You'll arrive to the same solution as now with the other software.

All the best from Italy.
I hope i'll help you!
Thanks very much Luca.
I'll keep the post open in case anyone else has a different idea.
Hi @AndyDD_UK
you can use the hierarchy.
Automatic hierarchy are Year-Month-Quarter-Day.
So you have to create the Week Column as a calculated column and then create a hierarchy as you want.
You can refer to this documentation:
Dax function weeknum
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dax/weeknum-function-dax
Week hierarchy video:

Thank you, but that's what Im trying to avoid.
In the tool they currently use, and which they all understand, they simply click on D/ W / M icons.
If we move to Power BI and use hierarchy, then this will require a little bit of retraining (for 500+ users).
Alternatively, the bookmarking method means creating bookmarks for multiple reports.
I don't understand very well the problem.
Try to put some output of the result that you need.
I see if i can help you.
Thanks Luca
What I'm after is the ability for users to click on either Day/Week/Month icon (or chose from slicer) and for that choice to be reflected in X-axis of time series.
The image below is from a Looker Studio report.
Users are used to being able to easily switch between day/week/month view.
I can recreate this in Power BI using bookmarks but if there is an easier way, where users choose eg from slicer I would prefer to use that.
Drill downs would require training so is not the best option.
