I am trying to connect PowerBI to a remote server on Azure
The database is Postgresql, and I am getting the error message "The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure"
I searched the forum, and there are many solutions for AWS. But How would I do it for Azure?
P.S. The Azure Postgresql connector doesn't work either...
Solved! Go to Solution.
I checked the steps.
Step 1 is a given
Step 2: I tried using the direct IP address, which also did not work.
I ended up setting up a ODBC connection, which solved the problem. But maybe as a report to Microsoft: The Postgresql Connector in Power BI does not work out of the box unfortunately...
Hi,
I have the same error message when I enable the encrypt option in the datasource creation window from the Power BI Portal.
I am trying to create a datasource which acess to a remote postgreSQL hosted on Azure and using an on premise gateway.
I have tried to add certificate but I got the same error.
Whithout the encrypt option it works, but we want to enable the encryption to secure the data exchange between the Power BI portal and the remote database.
Any ideas ?
Thank you in advance !
Hi @wl2020
Please check that the following four parts are correctly configured.
Part 1 - Provision your Azure Postgres Database and install the components for connecting to Postgres.
Part 2 - Register the appropriate certificate so SSL connections to Postgres work.
Part 3 - Connect to your Postgres database with Power BI Desktop.
Part 4 - Setup and configure the Power BI Gateway for cloud refresh.
