I am trying to import data into PoerBi Desktop from an Excel file which contains worksheet content, power query content and power pivot content. It also has a Calendar table which I have reduced to 43,830 rows (one row for ead day of the year). when I import into PowerBi Desktop, I see that everything is imp[orted successfully except for the Calndar table. I get this Warning message: The pasted table exceeds the maximum size and couldn't be imported.
A. This seem bizzare, first of all. In the original file the Calendar table has 48,213 rows which imports into the Poweer Pivot Data Model wihout incident. So this immediately puts a break on my desire to use PowrBi because this table size limitation is absurd. 43K rows is NOT a large table!
B. What is the maximum size allowed for a "pasted table"?

I found out what the problem is. The Calendar table was created using Format As Table. The data was plaed into column A of an Excel worksheet, and the way the Format As Table was done was to highlight the entire column, which means many, many cells were included in the table that were blank. Not sure what the limit is on rows with Excel 2016, but much more than PoweerBi can handle.
I recreated the Calendar table, ensurieng that the last row in the table does not go beyond the data for the Calenadar. This imports into PoweerBi no problem.

@StuartSmith Well, I would not say I am pasting any data, which is why I put the phrase in quotation marks. What I did was click File > Import > Power Query, Power Pivot, Power View and selected a Power Pivot report that is used in our Sales department. This file has a table which consists of date values that I use as my Calendar. It was imported into the Power Pivot Data Model.. Why PowerBi is complaining about "pasted table" I do not know. The data was originally pasted into an Excel sheet, and then formatted as a table. There are severalt ables like this in the file, which imported without a problem, so I am quite perplexed as to why this one is an issue. Hence, my post here.
Silly question, but why are you trying to paste in the data and not import via the apps inbuilt import data feature?
