The Date Format Slicer Problem

Hello,

I'm using a slicer for date in our company's reports and this is a recurrent issue.

I expect the slicer to behave just like the format the date is on but instead, it changes constantly based on the regional settings of the browser the report is being visualized on and the users machine.

This is a huge problem because we have users in Portugal, Spain and Germany and all of them want to see in the DD-MM-YYYY format.

Is there any way to lock the date format in the slicer just like it is in table format?

Below i show u the steps that I used to create a test report just with the date as an example of this problem:

  1. I open a new report, select regional settings.

I create the calendar and select the format.

The format I select doesn't have the asterisk so I expect this to be locked for any user.

I publish the report to PBi Service, and the now the format in the Date Slicer changes according to the browser regional settings. This is the issue, i want the format in the slicer to be locked.

Right now, the only work around we have is for every user to change both the regional settings on their machine AND on their browser. But even after these steps, the date slicer format stays in ''MM-DD-YYYY' if we share the report as a web part in sharepoint.

Any help is welcomed, thanks

Hi, @Anonymous

After testing, after publishing to Service, the format of the date slicer changes due to the locale on the browser and also changes due to the language setting in Power Bi. There is currently no way to fix the date format that comes from Desktop.
