Text box keeps moving/snapping back to previous place

I have a problem with text boxes on PB Desktop that I cannot resolve. I have text boxes on top of a visual. When I move them - which is hard enough to do - some of them snap back to their old spot when the page/tab loses focus. It is not all of them, and it seems to be intermittent, but it's annoying enough.

Any suggestions would be most welcome, this has been driving me nuts.

So, this appears to be the answer: it is a bug in the software. For some of these text boxes, I can drag them and they will stay where dragged just fine. Others exhibit this odd behavior. On those, when I manipulate the numbers in the "Position" property instead, they stay put. Microsoft, please fix the issue with dragging text boxes, it's been a known issue for a while!

This was driving me mad, until I pressed a few buttons and it stopped. Workflow and screenshot below:

With the image selected; click on arrange, align, then select 'align centre' (other settings might work here). Doing this seemed to over-ride the auto move feature that was constantly resetting my selected move position.

Anyway, it worked for me and hopefully you too.

Sorry, but I probably wasn't clear enough:

  • the text box is above the visual - see screenshot
  • it is too high, as you can see; when I move it down, it behaves as expected and moves where I want it
  • if I then click on another tab and back to the tab this resides on, the text box is right where it was originally, before i moved it

Update: it appears to not do this when you use the "Position" properties of the textbox. I'll keep an eye on it, but if that is the "solution", the software has a bug that needs to be fixed.

@Anonymous , if it overlaps with some visual, bring it in front first. and Then just click on empty space. that should help to see it
