Text Slicer: Pasting cell from Excel -> additional spaces -> no search result

Issue with the New Text Slicer When Pasting Excel Cell Content

When using the new text slicer and pasting content from an Excel cell, an unintended space is added at the end of the entry. As a result, search queries no longer function correctly because the inserted text does not exactly match the existing entries.

Question:
Is there a way to prevent additional spaces from being added when pasting Excel cell content into the text slicer, so that only the actual cell content is inserted?

Hi @Franzzz ,
Just wanted to check if you had a chance to try the suggestion shared by @kushanNa regarding the Text Filter visual.

You can also post the original issue in the Issues forum to get more visibility so that the product team can review it further.

If further assistance is needed, please reach out.
Thank you.

This isn’t a full solution, but have you tried using the Microsoft 'Text Filter' visual from the ‘Get more visuals’ menu? It has limited filtering options, but it still works as a text search—and copying and pasting also works without adding extra spaces.

Thank you for your response.

We would prefer to avoid this workaround, as many users do not intuitively apply or understand it. For comparison: in the classic slicer visual search, direct pasting from Excel cells works without additional spaces at the end. Our request would be for the new text slicer to support the same behavior.

Could this be addressed to Microsoft? Or is there already a solution available for this?

@Franzzz , Instead copy copy-paste cell content. Press F2 in Excel and select the cell content, and paste it
