Text Boxes Filtered Based on Record Number

Hello!

I am relatively new to using Power BI, but I've been tasked with building a report that relies heavily on text boxes to show the relevant values. However, this is made complicated by the number of records in the data. Essentially, the ask is to build a report that shows, within a text box (not a card and not a table, due to the large amount of textual data) all the relevant data for the employee based on the latest record number. Users of the report can toggle the record number backwards or forwards later using navigation buttons, but the default view should be the latest record for the employee. The employee is selected using a slicer based on Name.

An example of the data set is below (from a Sharepoint list):

NameOccupationCategoryCommentsRecord
John DoeDirectorExecutiveWorking hard!2
John DoeDirectorExecutiveLeave of absence1
Jane DoeManagerManagerPromoted! We need to give her a raise!3
Jane DoeAnalystIndividual ContributorGiven full-time role!2
Jane DoeInternEntry-level AnalystStarted July 20221

I've tried sorting the data model in descending order so that the highest records are picked up first in the report. However, this is not working, as somehow the text boxes are constantly picking up the 1st record for each line (e.g. John Doe - Leave of Absence, Jane Doe - Started July 2022) instead of the most recent lines (John Doe - Working hard! and Jane Doe - Promoted!). Is there a measure I can build and fit into my report somehow so that the default view goes to the highest record number for each employee name when filtered? The user should be able to then toggle to past records by hitting a navigation button that I have yet to build.

Following this ask, I'm going to have to integrate a Power App so that these records can be updated. Hopefully that's not too complicated, but it will need to create new records within the Sharepoint list, prepopulate the data with existing information, etc.

Can anyone provide some helpful tips and advise to help me accomplish this? Not really a visualization project per se, but more of an attempt to modernize an Access-based tool that we share with our stakeholders. Thanks!
