Testing RLS roles in a report using Shared Data Set

Hi there,

I have created a Master Shared Data Set and have then created a new report which gets its data from the mentioned SDS.

I want to enable Row Level Security to the report, so have enabled this and defined the User roles in the SDS, and also assigned people to the roles in the SDS.

I want to test if these roles are working correctly, but as I am an admin, it's showing me everything.  Does anyone have a suggestion of how I can do it?

I understand that when you are using Import or Direct Query data then you can test the roles within your report, but this is not available in data set mode so its greyed out.  But it looks like I CAN define RLS roles in the SDS, but not test them.  So maybe they do work but I can't test it.

Thanks, Anna.

@abloor

Please check the the rls in Dateset=>Securty, you should able to test as roles if there are roles assigned.test as roles.jpg
