I have asked this in the past and I didnt get any concrete answer:
Is there a way of testing RLS if my model is in SSAS?
I do know I have this "analyze in excel":
and I do know its all grayed out in Power BI:
I just wonder how other people test this?
I have complex RLS requirements, and it is a hassle to recreate all my report in excel and only use "analyze in excel" to test...
Test RLS using the SSAS Profiler: You can use the SSAS Profiler to trace the queries that are sent to the SSAS server and verify that the RLS filters are being applied correctly. To do this, you will need to connect to the SSAS server using SSMS and start a trace using the SSAS Profiler.
as I mentioned above I can't create roles in the pbix its all grayed out:
Hello,
On the report view, create a table visual that replicates the table you want to test, then create the RLS Role and test it on the Report View.
