Table data sorting problem

Gawain_0-1728378734671.pngGawain_1-1728378930438.png

As you can see, my data looks like this, but as you can see, first of all, there's something wrong with the order of the dates, now they're in character order, and second, we want to change the order to Enterprise > Partner > Mentor, which will also change the normal alphabetical order, how can I change that? My final expectation is to sort by date ascending, then Enterprise > Partner > Mentor. I hope someone will help me. Thank you very much

Hi @Gawain ,

Based on the testing, please try the following methods:

1.Create the new column to filter the month name.

Month number = MONTH('Table test'[Date])

2.Select the Month name column and select sort by month number column.

3.Create the new table to filter the category.

4.Drag the new table category field to the matrix visual.

maybe you can try create dim tables and manually create a order column.

creating relationship between dim tables and fact tables.

At last, use the columns from dim table in the matrix visual

Hello @Gawain ,

You can sort a text column using a number column for reference. You can refer to this link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/desktop-sort-by-column?tabs=powerbi-deskto...

As ryan mentioned you can make use of a custom table or something similar to order Enterprise > Partner > Mentor, maybe you can have on the same table or another "Enterprise = 1, Partner = 2, Mentor = 3" and use it to order.

Best regards,

Joel
