Hi guys.
I know this question was raised before (https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Synchronise-Y-Axis-Across-Multiple-Charts/m-p/90924#M38336) and didn't receive an answer, but I wanted to ask it again to see if anyone figured it out since 2016!
The use case is we have two charts drawing data from two different tables (but both are plotted against the same measure, in this case depth).
Now, these charts need to be filterable on the depth (which is fine as there is a bridge table between the two) but the issue comes when the two charts don't align correctly, as per the screenshot.
The reason this happens is because both axis are set to automatic so, for example, in the chart on the left with the black dots, the first item is around 4,500 so it only starts plotting from 4000, instead of 0 which would align it with the other chart. I can't fix the axis because users are using the filter to zoom in and see a more granular view.
I also played around with using a calculated column to bring back max and min values to plot (but colour white and hide them) but that doesn't work because the calculated column is computed at the refresh, and doesn't respond to changes in filters within the report.
If anyone has a solution I'd be super happy!
Thanks in advance.
hi @Anonymous
You may try to enable 'Show items with no data' on the dropdown for the field in the Axis.

Hiya Lin,
Thanks for your suggestion. I hadn't tried that, and it does make the chart synchronise, but I can't then use the measure that plotted the black dots, as instead it plots a dot for every single depth value. If I put that measure into the details or legend of the chart it breaks, as it requires the axis to be summarised, but the axis must not be summarised to allow "show items with no data" option to appear.
This has moved me a step forward I think - but it still doesn't produce quite the effect I'm looking for, as the best I could do was to colour the dots where the measure I was using to plot previously isn't blank. This produces the visual below. Unfortunately users will need to hover over the black dots to see a tooltip of more info, which is very difficult to do, as most the points are obscured by the other close points.
I'll keep playing around as I feel this might be the solution with a bit of tweaking? But any other ideas would be gratefully received! Thanks again!
