Sum the total number of distinct string rows in a table

Hello!

I've been having trouble summing the number of distinct rows in my table.

My calculation is returning 9, which I want to return 8 (avlasov should be counted as 1, as I want to sum the total distinct rows).

See table below, and what I have tried.

I've tried the following:

CountDistinct_2 = SUMX
(DISTINCT(Fact_TCDK_Calc[Individual Contributors]),
FIRSTNONBLANK(Fact_TCDK_Calc[Individual Contributors], 0))
Returned error:The function SUMX cannot work with values of type String.

ContrToAlloc_L1 =
var SUM_Total_ProjectKeys = SUMX(Fact_TCDK_Calc,
IF(Fact_TCDK_Calc[GEO Project Key] = EARLIER(Fact_TCDK_Calc[GEO Project Key], 1),
Fact_TCDK_Calc[Resource Maturity Impact], 0))

return SUM_Total_ProjectKeys

Returns 9, but it's still counting avlasov as 2 values, therefore returning 9 total (see photo below)

Thank you!!

@Anonymous why not simply use DistinctCount function.

Sorry, should've mentioned that I want to filter by 'GEO Projet Key'. I just created a calculation and your solution worked!

CountDistinct_2 = CALCULATE(DISTINCTCOUNT(Fact_TCDK_Calc[Individual Contributors]),
FILTER(Fact_TCDK_Calc, Fact_TCDK_Calc[GEO Project Key] = EARLIER(Fact_TCDK_Calc[GEO Project Key])))

Thank you so much!
