Sum of Max of Dataset?

 Hi all,

I'm fairly new with Power BI and am attempting to grab the total of some data that has been pre-calculated as 'Max'.  In the picture, we have the data broken up by PQ and time, the data value is the 'Max' of 'xyzDataSet'.  The total from the matrix comes back with the 'Max' of the time interval, is it possible to get a 'Sum' of the 'Max' of that interval? Example, 6:00:00 would have a total of 13 instead of 2.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Anonymous,

In this cases you need to use aggregator formulas the ones that end in X so you need to use the SUMX your formula should be something similar to:

SUMX( Table; MAX(Table[Column]))

However be careful because if your data is filled by several data points on each line this will return the incorrect result and you will need to do something like

IF( HASONEFILTER(TABLE[FULLNAME]) ; MAX(TABLE[Column]) ; SUMX( Table; MAX(Table[Column])))

This two calculations are used for measures.

How would I expand the formula bar? The table was created using the visualizations popout.  It appears that everything is done behind the scenes. @MFelix @mwegener

Hi @Anonymous ,
