Suggestions for "drill-down" tabular data

While I know the drill down functionality isn't part of the table or matrix visualizations, I wondered if someone had come up with another way to achieve the same sort of interaction from existing visualizations (within Desktop or the Gallery).

I'd ideally have a table that shows the same set of columns, but the first column is a group name that can be clicked to then change the table so it's filtering just on the group, and the names are now sub-groups which are clickable to go into those, etc.

The Heirarchy Slicer may be the best I can achieve, and have that beside the table of displayed information, but if there's something better I haven't considered, or is so amazing I would never have thought of it, I'd appreciate any info!

If my question needs any clarification, please just let me know.

Cheers,
Adam

Thanks Xiaoxin,

I've voted for the suggestion, and hope something comes from it soon, considering they were looking to "bring this in soon" in ay 2016.

Cheers,
Adam
