Hello all,
I have today suddenly started to have problems with existing reports getting data from SharePoint files.
I have several reports which use SharePoint.Contents("https://xxx.sharepoint.com/sites/yyy", [ApiVersion = 15]).
These have been working without error, but today, around midday, I started to get errors such as the below, which appears to be due to getting files saved on SharePoint. This was whilst working in Power BI Desktop, but I have also noticed some other existing reports showing errors on Power BI Service when trying to refresh with similar error messages stating they cannot get the data from SharePoint.
Is this a known bug? Does anyone know why this has suddenly started happening?
Any help grately appreciated, thank you.
Example A:
DataSource.Error: Web.Contents failed to get contents from 'https://trewithen.sharepoint.com/sites/DataStore/_api/web/getfilebyserverrelativeurl('/sites/yyy/Sha...' (500): Internal Server Error
Details:
DataSourceKind=SharePoint
DataSourcePath=https://xxx.sharepoint.com/sites/yyy
Url=https://xxx.sharepoint.com/sites/yyy/_api/web/getfilebyserverrelativeurl('/sites/yyy/Shared%20Docume...
Example B:
An error occurred in the ‘xxxData 2021’ query. DataSource.Error: SharePoint: Request failed: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. (Internal Server Error)
Details:
DataSourceKind=SharePoint
DataSourcePath=https://xx.sharepoint.com/sites/yyy
Url=https://xxx.sharepoint.com/sites/yyy/_api/Web/GetFolderByServerRelativePath(decodedurl='/sites/yyy/S... Documents/Farm Collections/NML')/Files

Looks as though there is an outage today - I've just been advised by our IT department that
"SharePoint is having issues today that are affecting some users globally. Microsoft is aware and are working to fix it, however in the mean time they're recommending to save any files they're working on locally.
Another recommendation is to try updating all Office apps by opening any Office app like Word and navigate to:
File > Account > Microsoft 365 and Office Updates > Update Options > Update Now"
Have added here in case anyone else searhces for the same issue.
@AliPoTD always something unique. Good luck!

I would check and make sure none of the folders in the path or the file were renamed or moved. It looks like your query has the full path in there, and that is a common thing to cause sudden issues.
Thanks but everything is the same as it was before.
@AliPoTD can you browse the files manually?
