Hello everyone,
I am looking to sort the 2 date columns but unable to do so when using Power BI desktop visuals.
For example, my Start date is sorted by the Quarter and the Year but the same does not apply to Close date as the Quarter and Year are different.
Worker Start date Quarter Close date Quarter
A 1/31/2021 Q1 2021 05/31/2021 Q2 2021
B 2/15/2022 Q1 2022 08/09/2022 Q3 2022
Kindly help to find a solution to this. Appreciate as I am new user of Power BI.
Hi @ashraparas
The sorting in the picture appears correct for both dates. The question is unclear; maybe some details are missing..
Additionally, if both dates are on the same visualization, it can only be sorted by one of them at a time... because the sorting criteria of the start date might conflict with the end date's.
thanks for your reply @Ritaf1983 ,
Above was just an example, please note that the quarters are in random order as open date quarter and close date quarters are not same in my case.
I am creating 2 different visualisations, 1 containing a view of by city and open dates (using the quarter + year combination) and the other containing a view by city and case close dates (using the quarter + year combination). So they are two different matrix visuals having quarter + year as column and City as Row.
But, when I use custom sort for open dates I cannot apply the same for close date for another visual. Is there a way that a common sort can work for both? In tableau I could do this easily as they were as no linkage between sorting of 1 worksheet with the other.
Apprciate any guidance or solution on this please.
