Source / Version Control for PBIX files

I have found some threads here talking about the issue. My questions, how to  branch and merge the pbix file and how to implement CI/CD? currently I have simply checked  pbix files into VSTS, but I feel it shoul be better if we use branch and merge and implement CI/CD as we could for other appliaction such as .net application.

@Anonymous lot of demand of htis but there is nothing yet except your own solution. I'm sure there is idea for this on ideas formu, do vote it for development team to work it on priority.
