Sorting axis with two variables

Sorted by USD Scrap Cost.pngSorted Alphabetically.pngColumns used Month Name, Year.png

Hello,

I am really close to having my chart exactly how I want it.

I would like to see my top scrap contributors each month by part number (or NCR Item number) / (NCR - Non conformance report)

However PowerBI is currently sorting my columns alphabetically by part number.

Please help - how do I get PowerBI to sort from USD Scrap cost but keep months in chronological order (rearranging Item number)

Hi @sroemer26 ,

1. Place the fields you want to use in the table visual.

2. Hold down the shift key and select the two fields you want to sort on the x-axis.

3. Select this visual and change it to a clustered column chart.

If your Current Period does not refer to this, please clarify in a follow-up reply.

Well, I tried that, but still no dice. Still May, April and March, and not from least to greatest. 🤔

Hi @sroemer26 ,

1. Adjust the sorting of Month Name, Year columns so that they are sorted by month number or other ordered columns.

2. Make sure to put the right fields in the right places.
