Is there a way to sort the column headers in the matrix visual?
For example, I would like 2016 data, then 2015 data.
Thanks!
I want to sort the date which is in the columns by descending order.....how is that done? THANKS
The visual itself doesn't allow it, however if you create a sort column where you reverse the order, then you can sort in reverse. For example if you case was months 1 to 12. You would assign a sort order of 1 to your 12th month, 2 to your 11th month etc.
The down side of this approach will be that your months will sort backwards everywhere for that field. You could get around this problem by having 2 different Date tables. One that sorts forwards and the other one that sorts backwards.
If your data is of Type Date, it will already sort in chronological. If you don't have it in type Date but another field in the same table contains the date data, you can instruct Power BI to Sort BI. This is done by moving to the Data View, selecting your column and pressing the "Sort By" button in the ribbon.
