Sort by column a table with dynamic formula - not working in September 2018 version

Dear Colleagues,

I know this question was raised many times, seems this is still a problem in September 2018 version (Version: 2.62.5222.761 64-bit (September 2018)).

I am creating a KPI table 'KPIs Liquidity' with a manually specified numeric sorting column. And in the table, I use a dynamic formula [Liquidity KPI Value].

Now, I would hope to use this numeric sorting column to sort the table. But it does not sort as I expect.

Also, the sorting triangle icon for some reason remains on the column 'KPIs Liquidity'[KPI Name].

Appreciate any insights on this topic.

Thank you,

Igor.

Hi,

Can you use space before the  "   Open Receivables", "  Open Payables", "  Liquidity" in your function so they can be aligned automatically based on your requirement.

Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried to add space before the values, but this did not influence dimension sorting.

UPD: I removed all line breaks in the measure formula, and it actually seems to work.

Any ideas why line breaks or tabs in the measure influence table sorting?

hi, @izhilin

I've been using this Sort by feature a lot lately, it works well. and I have tested on my side, but not reproduce the issue.

For example:

9.PNG

and then select column KPI Name ->click sort by Column->Sort column

10.PNG

Result:

11.PNG

And it doesn't be influenced by line breaks or tabs, and why it is Sorting column (Default) in your screenshot?

and here is my pbix, please try it.

If not your case, please share your simple sample pbix.
