Sorry, we couldn't find that dataset it may have been deleted or you may not have access to view it

Hi All,

I am new power bi user and having power bi free license. One of my team mate shared a report to use the dataset for creating another report. I received an email for that shared report, when i click that report below message is coming. My team mate using power bi pro license & published report workspace is premium. What is the reason for the below message why i am not able to see that dataset to create a new report from that dataset? Please help.

Hi, @prakash11440278

Regarding sharing, reports are in the Premium workspace, and you have a Free license and can usually view reports.

If the report is not deleted, first consider whether the report uses RLS. Row-level security (RLS) with Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

If you are not using RLS, you can add your permissions in Dataset Editing Permissions.https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/service-share-dashboards#manage-permiss...

For reference:

Request or grant access to dashboards or reports - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Build permission for shared datasets - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

@prakash11440278

In your case you must have Pro License to create report! This is an access issue and since you donot have license you are not allowed access!

Else ask your team member to share this report from Premium Capacity Workspace ( if the organisation is having such license) , then you can access that dataset
