Slicers with List or Dropdown have no Search Option?

Am I missing something or do Slicers configured as dropdown or lists have NO search option?

The way this is implemented I'm not sure why it isn't automatic and instead requires the option to be selected.  I can't see any inconvenience of having it always show up.
