Hi guys.
If I have the above arrangement of Slicers and make a choice on one of the Slicers, how can I make the other Slicers not to show the choices that are not relavant?
For eample, if I choose Bakery A for Cost Centre, I will like to see choices in other Slicers that are only relavant to Bakery A. Alternatively, if I choose Bakery A for Cost Center and Project Apple Pie & Motherhood for Project, the other Slicers (Authority and Identifier) will only show relavant choices filtered by Cost Centre and Project.
Each Slicers are representing a data set (ie Cost Centre, Authority, Project and Identity Data Sets) which are linked individually to a data set that houses financial data (let's call this Fin_Summary). Cost Centre, Authority, Projects and Identiy are columns in Fin_Summary.
Let me know your thoughts, Jedi Masters.
Hi @Anonymous ,
What type of relationship you have on your slicers?
When you have star schema with one to many relationships the dimension tables don't filter each other out since the idea is to filter the details information based on the dimension tables.
One option is to make turn on the cross filter direction to both on the relationship between the dimension table and the main table that way you will have a filter crossing from slicer to slicer, however be carefull because the cross filtering option can create unexpected results on your calculations so it needs to be turn on carefully.
Please check this article about bidirectinality that explains how you can sync slicers with this feature and options.
