Slicer - no longer able to add "search" even using ellipses

Since the December update or so, I can't add the SEARCH option to slicer drop down lists.

It doesn't seem to work with date or number fields.  Some text fields it will allow me to enable searching, but it used to allow me to search for anything.

True, The only work around I can think of is duplicating the column and changing the data type to text

After selecting search in the ellipsis, you have to click on All in the dropdown, then you can see the Searchbox . Here is a demo in this video

Sadly it doesn't seem to work for non-text based fields.
