Hello,
Let me first give you a picture of the data set:
Date | Tracking Code | Landing Page | Visits | Unique Visitors | Page Views |
1st Feb 2021 | Xyz | a.html | 1 | 1 | 1 |
2nd Feb 2021 | Zyx | b.html | 1 | 1 | 1 |
3rd Feb 2021 | Xyz | a.html | 1 | 1 | 1 |
4th Feb 2021 | Zyx | b.html | 1 | 1 | 1 |
5th Feb 2021 | Xyz | a.html | 1 | 1 | 1 |
Now I am using “Tracking Code” as a slicer. In the slicer I can see tracking code “Xyz” is showing 3 times, but it should be showing once. In slicer if I try to select “Xyz” more than once it is not happening. Even if try to select the 3rd “Xyz” – the first one gets selected.
Data in the dashboard is having no issue.
My concern is why I am seeing Duplicate Tracking Code in the slicer?
If I am not clear with the scenario – please let me know.

Hi, @utsavlexmark
Normally, Slicer will display distinct values in a column. If there are duplicate values displaying in a Slicer, it is very likely that some spaces or non-printable characters before or after the values.
You can try these solution to see whether your problem can be solved.

Thanks Caiyun,
It is working perfectly for me now. It was really surprised to see that the issue is not there in the Desktop file but in Online version reportview.
Thank you very much for your help.

So what was the problem causing duplicate values in your slicer?

To be very honest I don't know what the reason was 😂
https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Duplicate-values-in-slicer-Please-help/m-p/478036 this post actually helped to show the data I want to show.
Can you check if any whitespaces before or after the letters. If you have any please TRIM.

No that shouldn't be an issue. I've recreated your sample data and it works fine for me.
Download the PBIX file and check yourself, maybe you'll spot something

Hello Phil,
Just discovered one strange thing. The issue I pointed out is only showing in online verson in report view. This issue is not there in the Power Bi Desktop file.
Please suggest something - I am totally confused with this.
Check the values for Xyz in the Tracking Code column are identical. Are there are any leading or trailing spaces or other unprintable characters?

Hello Philip,
They are identical, nothing is there to separate them.
I have a doubt - as you can see in my dataset, same tracking code and landing page might have been use in different dates. Is that creating any issue?
