Slicer for date range selection

Hi,

I would like to have a slicer to filter date range in Power BI Desktop.

Specifically, I want to have a slicer showing two dates only which controls the end of the date range filter in dim date table:

  1) beginning ~ last day of the last month (Today is Feb 21 2023, so it should be '2023-01-31')

  2) beginning ~ today ('2023-02-21')

The expected behavior is customer click either 1) or 2) so that they can switch report contents along with the date range dynamically

Is there any way to achieve it? Thank you so much in advance.

PS. I know a technique with Bookmarks (using two layers exactly in same location and switch via bookmarks) - but it makes report slow in DirectQuery and needs extra care I would like to seek for easier solution. Thanks
