Slicer drop down behaviour when rls is applied

Hello.

I have a slicer with several drop down options but when i apply rls, some users only have access to one of these options.

I was hoping for the slicer to automatically show the value correponding to the logged in user once rls is working (instead of "All") but what happens is that the user still needs to click the arrow a select the option (As shown in the figure below), although all visuals are already filtered because of rls.

Any way to work around this issue while still using the drop down slicer?
Thanks in advance.

    Hi filiparibeiro ,

There seems to be no easier way. I suggest change the slicer to a list.

When I view as a viewer, it will meet your expectations.

    Hi filiparibeiro ,

Bussine unit belongs to another table?

If so,  The Bussine unit  is of a different table and RLS is not applied to that table.

You just need to apply rls for this  table too, otherwise how does rls to hide this table value?

If I have misunderstood your meaning, please provide more details.

  • Anonymous thank you for your reply. RLS is working on the business unit table. I just wanted for the filtered value of this table to appear where it says "All" in the slicer instead of having to click the arrow and still need to select the value for this to happen.
