Since Last week, loading data in powerbi desktop has been very long

Hi,

I've been loading data on the same .pbix for months.  Suddenly last week, its started taking longer and longer.  Now it spends 30mins to hours in "Creating connection model".  Sometimes it completes, other times doesnt.  Anyone know what to look for?

Thank you.

M

Hi @miguelsus2000 ,

Are you using Power BI Desktop 2.97.801.0 64-bit (September 2021)?

If so, this is a known issue (ICM#: 263271425) and the Product Team have found the root cause and are working on fix. And the fix will be released in the November version of Power BI Desktop.

Please be patient and I'll post here if there are any updates. Currently, please revert to August version. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Best Regards,

Icey

Thank you for the reply.  Not really, very minimal change, nothing big.  Almost like suddenly the internet slowed down significantly, but my speeds continue to be 200Mbps or so.

tell us what changed you did, you would be amazed how something little sometimes do a big difference

or change the data with dumb data and share the model for a more detailed review by folks here

Hi, unfortunately i cant share the data,  but i also pulled up an older pbix from 3 wks ago, and it seems to get very stuck in creating model, then finally starts loading...M

thi can be by a number of factors, computer specs, connection speed, source response or setting to outside requests, data model optimization (DAX, queries, relantionship), model size or data volume, amount of table its loading, etc,

have you done any change to the model in this last 2 weeks ? even by small it may seem?
