Hi @anon7894 - Shape Map relies on custom and built-in TopoJSON files for mapping. These files are focused on geographical boundaries and not on placing text labels within or near those boundaries.
The Shape Map visual is primarily designed to visualize data by filling map regions (e.g., states, countries, or custom shapes) with colors based on a measure.
you can choose alternative maps such as , Filled Map and ArcGIS Map visuals can display labels and points.
Hope this information helps.

Hi @anon7894 ,
Thanks for the reply from rajendraongole1 , please allow me to provide another insight:
The map doesn't have any labels, so adding a table can help. In practice, maps usually do not stand on their own. It will be used in conjunction with other visuals, which will give you the missing information.
To make the table more useful, you can add conditional formatting to the two columns to match the map colors.
In this way, data, names, and colors are effectively linked, achieving an effect similar to that of data labels.
Here are some links related to your question that I hope will help you.
