@jnaugle

you are comparing Date with Year number. try

CALCULATE(sum(SalesDashboard[Sales_Amount_Actual]), YEAR('date'[Date])=year(today()) )

also make sure your Date field has a Date data type

@jnaugle

‘date'[date] is a date value which contains year, month and day.

year(today()) only returns year value 2020.
