Hello everyone,
Is there a way to show items with no data in a Power BI map?
In my case, I have a map showing all the italian regions, and for each region there is a certain value of a field, that has a more intense color for the regions with more data available.
Instead for some regions, there are no data available: they shouldn't disappear from the map, but appear coloured of gray.
Thanks to anyone who will answer me.

The first thing you need to be aware of is that even though some cities do not have available data, the names of these cities must exist in your datasheet, otherwise you will not be able to make these cities appear in the map.
Then create the Azure map with the Legend and Size blank:
Then set colors:
And the final output is as below:

Hi @Anonymous, what type of map do you use? Below you can find an example of Filled Map for Italy. As you can see, when measure result is 0 the region is not removed but greyed out as one might expect.
If you still face the issue, please share pbix and describe in details the desired result.
Good luck with your project!
I'm using an Azure Map.
Yes, this is the result I would like to obtain
Please share a pbix file. In case of sensitive data, prepare a dummy sample where the issue persist. Or... use filled map visual 🙂
Hello @Anonymous ,
Based on the details you've shared, I believe you can resolve this using the DAX function COALESCE. In your map's formula logic, the COALESCE function can provide a "default" value for regions lacking data. You could set a value slightly above zero, such as 0.000000001, to act as the baseline.
Best regards,
Alex
