Show data table option in PowerBI Desktop

Hi Experts ,

 

I'm very new to powerBI ,

 

I'm using a sharepoint list to generate some visuals .. 

 

First i directly call the PowerBI  through the sharepoint list   using below option

once you directed to the powerBI ,it allow me to create a table using the list data thro below option

my concern is if i connect the List through PowerBI desktop , it doesn't have an option like above "Show data table" .. Would you pls help me to create a table in PowerBI visual as the same behaviours in "Show data table " online .

Hi @udayadeven,

 

What Show as table does is essentially insert a table visual in Power BI Desktop with all the fields from the list. There is no Show as table in the desktop so you have to adjust the size of some or all of the existing visuals and insert the table accordingly.

Thanks for the quick response ..  Insert table will show all  records of the selected fields in the List .. But what i need as behave in online PowerBI , it should show only the records which are selected on above visulas .. lets say for a particular date .

I'm confused. You said you wanted to do in the desktop how Show as table behaves in the web which is as I stated in my previous reply. If you want to filter it by date, you need to add a date slicer somewhere in the report or add it to the filter pane.

here is one of my Visual created using a list via online Power BI

In here if i click on a slice it will display the records which are related to it on the table ..  I powerBI desktop if i created a table in the same way .. it will not filter the records in the table as the selected slice ..

 

hope u get more clarity on my concern ..
