Thanks for pointing this out. If anyone one is experiencing the same thing and still needs to connect to the externally shared semantic model you can go to the Home tab of OneLake Catalog > Search "Semantic" > Select the "Power BI semantic models" source > That will open up the OneLake data hub which has the "External Data" tab needed. 

 

miguel Any information on this? Will the external data tab be added back to the OneLake catalog? Can it be reported/looked at?

I've pinged the Power BI and OneLake teams to look into this, but don't have any information to share at the moment.

Our goal is to support all the scenarios that are available in the legacy UI. That means not causing a regression or not enabling a better path for whatever task you may be doing today in the legacy UI.

    miguel, thank you for the transparency. With adrez suggested UI route, this is not a massive issue as it is still accessible. Regardless, getting 1:1 with the old UI would be great as this is a wonderful feature to have highlighted.
