I'm using the StatsCan website, 2016 Census Boundary files (statcan.gc.ca) , in order to generate boundary map files. If I select the option for Census Divisions (or whatever) and the option for either Cartographic Boundary File or Digital Boundary file (doesn't matter), and then follow the steps to download, everything works as expected.
However, when I import the files into mapshaper.org (doesn't matter whether I import only the shape file or all of the files):
Then the map looks like I want:
Past this point, however, things aren't so good. When I export as a JSON topo file (usually after simplifying the graph to make it smaller), I then open up Power BI desktop and create a Shape Map visual. After dumping something in Location (usually FSA), I then select the option to import a json file and select my file:
And this is what I get:
You can see Canada in there, but it's like it's being projected out of a point. I don't see many options on mapshaper that would imply that I have a way to fix this. Does anyone know what's going on?
