Hello Team,
I have created a semantic model in Notebook. And it is saved and published in the notebook. I am trying to access the sematic model table from power bi.I am getting error saying :
Getting error :
Couldn't load the model schema associated with this report. Make sure you have a connection to the server, and try again.

@Rohitk77 Hey,
I will below steps to troubleshoot the issues.
1) Check the settings and deployment status of the semantic model in the notebook for compatibility with Power BI.
2) Review and test your network configuration, ensuring no firewall or network issues prevent Power BI from accessing the semantic model.
3) Confirm that your user permissions and access rights are correctly set within the notebook and Power BI to allow model retrieval.
Thanks
Harish KM
If these steps help resolve your issue, your acknowledgment would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Rohitk77 ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
The error “CannotRetrieveModelException,” it appears that Power BI is unable to connect to or retrieve the schema from the semantic model published through your Notebook. This can commonly occur due to missing permissions, broken links to the Lakehouse, or issues with the model deployment.
We appreciate the valuable inputs shared by @rajendraongole1 and @HarishKM , who have correctly pointed the key areas to check. Please ensure that your Power BI user has the necessary access to the workspace where the semantic model is published, and verify that the associated Lakehouse still exists and hasn’t been renamed. Confirm that all referenced tables materialized in the Notebook and re-run it if necessary.
Also, please check your network connection and firewall settings to eliminate any access issues, and verify that the semantic model has been properly deployed and is compatible with Power BI. These steps should help address the schema loading error you’re experiencing. If you need any further assistance, feel free to reach out.
Thank you.

Hi @Rohitk77 - Can you check at semantic model was created in a workspace where your Power BI user doesn’t have proper rights, this can cause schema loading failures. The Lakehouse or Notebook that generated the model.Workspace where the semantic model is published.
can you also check at workspace > check that the original Lakehouse still exists. (if there is any naming changes).Make sure the table you are referencing exists and is materialized if used in the Notebook.Re-run the notebook if needed.
Hope this helps. please check.

Hi @Rohitk77— In addition to that, check and confirm the notebook table is saved as a semantic model, go to Power BI Service, and refresh the semantic model manually. Check column types for unsupported values
Please check and hope the above details helps.
Hope this helps.
