Search by list : one slicer for different type of search

Hello,

I am currently migrating reports from QlikView to Power BI, and I am attempting to replicate a "search by list" feature available in Qlik.

In Power BI, I am using the "Filter by list" visual, but I can only input one field for the search.

However, in our scenario, we need to search by CustomerID, OrderID, and ProviderID separately.

Currently, I have to use three distinct filters, one for each parameter.

I would like to optimize this process, if possible, either by having one slicer that automatically recognizes the type of search (Customer/Order/Provider ID) or by having a single slicer with a drop-down header to choose the type of search.

Is there a way to achieve this in Power BI? Whether through the mentioned slicer or another method?

Based on your description you seem to be trying to optimize the slicer to get to the point where you can go and filter three fields using just one slicer.
Here some steps that I want to share, you can check them if they suitable for your requirement.

Thank you for your response.

Unfortunately, this solution wouldn't meet our requirements : We need the capability to filter based on lists from other files, such as Excel sheets or CSV files. These lists could vary greatly in size, ranging from just 10 references to as many as 10 000.

Therefore, this method is not suitable for our needs.

I hope this clarifies my request.

Thanks for the reply, slicer value stacking doesn't work for large data considering you have multiple columns and complex data. You can try the method mentioned in the following article, which is suitable for creating a slicer that displays values from multiple columns, applying a filter to any of the columns.
