Scheduled refreshes lead to credential issues

hi all,
I'm trying to do scheduled refreshes with my powerbi dashboard. The issue seems to relate to a data source (Cerrix), I have placed all my credentials but still it tells me I have errors with my data source credentials. I'd like to add that manual refreshes do work

I use 4 different API calls (all with the same token), I changed the API rights during the process to allow for more API data to process.

I have no clue how to solve this.

Regards,

KL

Hi,@KL007 I am glad to help.

According to your description, you get an error when connecting to the web data on Cerrix via the API for a scheduled refresh, but the manual refresh succeeds.
As a matter of fact, there is a difference between scheduled refresh in power bi and manual refresh in terms of data source restrictions:
Scheduled refresh in Power BI has specific requirements and restrictions on certain data source types, while manual refresh usually does not have strict data source type restrictions because it is a user-initiated operation. If the data source is connected properly, the first refresh is usually successful.
For your troubleshooting, I noticed that you are using four web-based datasource gateways for individual connections, but they are all working together for scheduled refreshes.
Here are my suggestions for troubleshooting the problem:

1. Create four simple reports: Create four simple reports using each of the four different Cerrix data sources.
2. Configure gateway connections: Configure the appropriate gateway connections for each report.
3. Test Manual Refresh and Scheduled Refresh: Test Manual Refresh and Scheduled Refresh for each report and record the results.

Analyze the test results: If a gateway connection has credential problems, you can focus on checking the configuration and credentials of that gateway.
If manual refresh succeeds but scheduled refresh fails for all reports, it may be an issue with the data source type or gateway configuration.

My suggested solution is shown below:
Try API+Dataflow
If you have tested and can determine that the web data source you are using does not support scheduled refreshes.
You can create the corresponding Dataflow by using API and Dataflow, and set the scheduled refresh of Dataflow, so that you can bypass the restriction of scheduled refresh on the data source.
Below is the relevant documentation, hope it can help you:
