Scheduled Refresh and Appended Queries

I have have some excel files on sharepoint that i linked through web and they work fine, however, I need to combine the data and schedule refresh it. Seperate all the data schedule refreshes correctly and without issue, however, when i go to append queries as new it give me the issue below. Am i missing a step or should i do something different?

@Anonymous , check the data source setting for this dataset, Make sure the on-premise gateway setting or data source credentials are all set

It is, and im not sure why it is only affecting when i append the tables. When the tables are not appended, it schedule refreshes with no issues.
